Through our events, workshops, and outreach programs, we aim to empower cinema artists to express their unique voices and contribute to the rich tapestry of world cinema.
Biography
Raman Irman, born on September 11, 1997, in Tabriz, Iran, is a filmmaker, screenwriter, actor, editor, novelist, and independent cinema lecturer who has received numerous international awards. He is the founder and lead educator of M&R Pictures Film School, and the founder of the international film production and distribution company M&R Pictures.
Raman gained global recognition with his live-action short film Visualization (2022) - a work that qualified for the 96th Academy Awards. At the age of 23, he founded the Kurdistan International Independent Film Festival, becoming the youngest filmmaker to establish and direct an international film festival.
In addition to his philosophical novels, he is the author of two filmmaking books: First-time Filmmaker (2025) and Professional Filmmaker (2025). His works and creative projects have earned over 80 international awards worldwide.
Alongside his filmmaking career, Raman is the creator of several prominent international festivals and awards, including the M&R Pictures Screenwriting Awards, Golden Eyes, Muzzle Awards, Mojo International Film Awards, and M&R Pictures Awards. Through his artistic and educational initiatives, he continues to shape the future of global independent cinema.
